Summary:
Utagai feels badly about nearing destroying the world with Cygnus, so he begins praying routinely to rid the world of the FM aliens. When Amachi doesn't notice it helping him at all, Amachi tells him he could do something better with his time. Utagai struggles, knowing the FM aliens are damaging technology with the Denpa Viruses that they send, so Amachi suggests he use his inventing talents to benefit society. Utagai likes the idea, and sets in motion a plan to lift the world up with a powerful invention.
Subaru's on his way to the Science Institute when War-Rock fights him on it, wanting to go to the beach instead. The tug of war pulls Subaru's Transer away from him, and the stress ultimately breaks the screen off. Subaru's pissed, and War-Rock's signal is broken up.
Subaru takes his broken Transer to Amaken, and Amachi agrees to fix it, offering him a Wave Scanner to use in the meantime. Just then, Utagai busts into the room, demanding they take the opportunity to invent a whole new type of Transer. Subaru doesn't want any of the additions Utagai considers making, which discourages him. But when Amachi explains what Utagai's trying to do, Subaru wants to see everything he's been working on.
While Utagai shows his crop of useless inventions, Denpa Viruses attack the lab. Subaru Denpa-Henkans and quickly deletes the viruses, and Amachi praises him for the quick work. Most of the time, they have to wait for the Satellite Police to deal with them. Utagai tells him it's a pain dealing with Denpa Viruses so often, so Amachi offers him the chance to design a device which can protect Amaken from viruses. Utagai is inspired, and begins to work immediately.
Subaru returns to Amaken later in the week for his Transer, but it's not finished yet because Utagai promised to fix it before his new invention absorbed all of his free time. When Subaru and Amachi go into his lab, he's about to run a test on his device. He explains that the three-step system is supposed to attract the viruses, then catch them and finally delete them. War-Rock wants to see it in action, so Utagai activates it. The first step works like a charm, but Utagai hasn't yet completed the other two functions, meaning the Denpa Viruses are coming one after another with no means of deleting them. Subaru Denpa-Henkans to save Amaken, but there are way too many viruses for even him to deal with.
